Andrean's St. Basil Theater
Dedicated November 27, 2001
Cafe 59

ST Basil Window Under the direction of Mr. Chris Gloff, director of performing arts, the chapel in the priests' residence was transformed into a theater.
The new theater accommodates 150 in plush burgundy theater seats. Brass rails accent the view from the balcony.
The beauty of the old chapel is retained in the new theater. Architectural features, which include a wooden ceiling, arches, and stained glass windows, continue to contribute to the unique atmosphere.
The vibrant stained glass window depicting St. Basil the Great provides the theater with its name and an interesting focal point.
The window, a gift from the classes of 1972 and 1973, was designed by Sr. Jeanne Ambre, SS.C.M., class of 1965, in memory of former principal Rev. John Cherry, C.S.B.
The chapel lights, donated by the Gravenstreter family in memory of their son Jim (64), still grace the ceiling.
For years to come, the theater will provide a gathering place for the Andrean community to celebrate the creativity of its students.

Welcome to Cafe 59.
In conjunction with the theater a coffee house, appropriately named Cafe 59, has been established adjacent to the theater.
