Come and see what Andrean has to offer for your son or daughter's future.
Admission Process:
Entrance Exam: The first step toward admissions into Andrean High School is to take the Scholastic Service High School Placement Exam. The test is administered by members of the the Guidance Department. Tests are administered in December and January.
Test results are sent by mail.
Interview: The second step in the admissions process is the personal interview.
Each incoming student will meet with an administrator or guidance counselor.
The eighth grade ISTEP scores and the most recent report card must be sent to Andrean before the meeting takes place.
Registration: Registration day is held in April. At this time students are also measured for uniforms and have another opportunity to meet with a guidance counselor.
Shadow Day Guidelines
Interested eighth grade students may schedule a "Shadow Day" after the Fall Open House.
1. Shadow days begin in November (after Open House) and continue through April 15.
2. To request a Shadow Day.
Parents
must call Mrs. Dawn Wojkovich 219-887-5281 ext 228
No voice mail appointments are acceptable.
In order to honor your request please call at least a week in advance.
To participate in a Shadow Day the following forms must be filled out and returned to the Admissions Office. (Acrobat Reader required)
Shadow Day Permit Emergency Contact Information Form

3. All requests may not necessarily be honored on a particular day due to various circumstances. Any student who shows up without permission from the Admissions Office will be sent home. Students may request a particular freshman student to shadow, but are not guaranteed the request.
4. A visiting student must stop in the Admissions Office to pick up a pass from
Mrs. Wojkovich and meet the shadow host. At the end of the day, the student must return with the host student and the pass and fill out an evaluation report.
5. The visiting student must obtain the teacher's signature on the pass upon entering each class.
6. Casual dress is acceptable.
No blue jeans, t-shirts, tank tops, crop tops or gym shoes. We suggest a nice pair of pants with a polo or dress shirt. Girls have the option of wearing a dress or skirt of appropriate length. Shoes must be casual or dress shoes with backs.
7. High school students requesting a Shadow day must contact Mrs. Nancy Reed
219-887-5281 ext. 233 in the Guidance office.
There is a $25 fee for high school students interested in shadowing.
8. The student may be dropped off in front of school and will be dismissed early so pick up can be done in front of school before the final bell. Parents are welcome and encouraged to come in and meet their child's host and inquire about Andrean.
A parent walk about can also be scheduled.
9. The student may bring a lunch or select from our cafeteria compliments of our Parents' Club
10. This is an opportunity for your child to experience a day at Andrean. This is a school day for our students. Your child might be asked to take notes or take part in a discussion or even take a test if that class happens to have one. We hope this will be a positive experience for your child and that he/she will become part of the Andrean family in the future.
